When in-person, our booth is located upstairs in Bldg. 22, Booth #11. We are a Holistically and sustainably managed small family farm, raising and breeding up the rare Herdwick Sheep. We are a pasture-based farm selling meats and our Self-raised unique Herdwick fiber as raw fleece, roving, corespun, pin draft & yarns, as well as sheepskins (pelts, hides). Our sheep were once raised by Beatrix Potter! We will be showing our sheep again in the Black and White Sheep show this year - the 3rd time Herdwick bred sheep have ever been shown in the U.S. Ours! Come see the newest results of our program and our ewenique sheep and learn about their wool. Containing 4 separate fibers, and keeping these sheep warm through winters at upwards of 3,000ft. The fiber is excellent for felting, weaving, knitting or crochet. Strong enough for floor applications and cozy enough for the warmest wool outerwear, and even used as household insulation in the U.K.! Naturally colored from black to silver-blue to nearly white. We also offer knitting, crochet, and rug making tools and supplies, Oxford Punch Needles, and a variety of books and other fiber arts tools. We feature James Rebanks, @herdyshepherd1, world-famous Herdwick Shepherd's books "The Shepherd's Life" and "The Shepherd's View"! You used to know us as The Wren's Nest.

Marcia MacDonald
Lana Plantae Yarns
We have been raising alpacas and sheep on our small farm in Maine for 20 years. From the beginning, we have used only natural dyes on our yarns and fibers. The art and science of natural dyes is a passion and we have taken very seriously the study of the process to create vibrant and lasting color. Many of the dye plants we use are also grown on our farm. Our signature yarn is our super soft rambouillet in fingering and worsted weight. We also have alpaca blends and yarns from other wools we source regionally.

I raise Bluefaced Leicester/Wensleydale crosses on my farm in Brookfield, New York, located an hour north of Binghamton. I also raise angora goats and English angora rabbits for blending their fiber with my wool. I design and sew the popular Bundaflicka Knitting Totes, unique hand spun yarns, goat milk soap, and the popular Shepherd's Friend Hand Cream. I also create lovely carded rovings I call "Mother Fiber" as wool is the mother of all fibers. I have been participating in the NY State Sheep and Wool Festival for 20 years. Remember, supporting the small shepherd is helping to preserve a way of life which is very rare and precious these days.
