Registration is closed! 

We will accept entries until all pens are taken.  At that point we will keep a waitlist so please notify us if you have pens reserved but find you are unable to attend so that we may notify a person on the waitlist.

 

*Penning Charts will be posted in each barn.  A reasonable number of 

  pens will be assigned depending on the number of sheep entered.  

  Please do not assume you will necessarily receive the number of pens you 

  requested when entering.

 

*Health papers must be dated within 90 days of the NYSWF.  All 

  animals will be inspected upon penning by UDSA personnel as soon as

  your animals are checked in.  Be sure to take care of this as soon as       

  possible.

 

*Straw will not be provided but is available for sale on the grounds 

  from Masten Feeds (845) 635-2553 or (845) 656-3544.  Their hours will be   

  10 – 5 on Thursday & 9-5 on Friday.  If you will not be arriving during these               

  hours, please remember to bring your own straw.     

 

*Sheep may arrive on the grounds from noon on Thursday, October 14th                    

  through 8 am Saturday, October 16th.

 

*Only sheep entered in the show, sale or breed display may be penned on the    

   grounds.

 

*Animals will be released AFTER the exhibitors meeting on Sunday with

  those living furthest away leaving first.  The order will be determined at

  the meeting.  Please see Chuck if you are planning on leaving right after

  the meeting.

 

PLEASE CONTACT US AT hsimmons@bard.edu WITH ANY CHANGES (not substitutions) OR CANCELLATIONS.  It may allow someone who is on the waitlist an opportunity to participate in the show.

 

Please arrive through the livestock gate on the north side of the fairgrounds.

 

ALL SHEEP PARTICIPATING IN THE SHOW MUST BE REGISTERED AND HAVE REGISTRATION PAPERS WHEN SIGNING IN.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

Classes offered:  Yearling Ram, Senior Ram, Spring Ram, Yearling Ewe, Senior Ewe, Spring Ewe, Pair of Ram Lambs, Pair of Yearling Ewes, Pair of Ewe Lambs, Pen of Three Lambs (both sexes), Exhibitors Flock (1 ram, 2 yearling ewes, 2 ewe lambs), best fleece (one entry per exhibitor per division)

this is a free class and 1 winner is chosen.  All entries in group classes must be owned by one exhibitor.  Classes with more than 15 entries will be split.   Exhibitors are limited to two premiums in individual classes and one premium in group classes.

Premiums:  $35, $30, $25, $20, $15, $10, $5, $5

 

Show Order:  

Saturday at 2 pm     Natural Colored Long followed by White Medium

 

Sunday at 9 am       White Fine, Natural Colored Fine, White Long,

                              Natural Colored Medium followed by Supremes

 

Supremes               NC Ram, NC Ewe, NC Fleece, White Ram, White Ewe,      

                             White Fleece

 

Check in Hours

Friday                     10:30 – 12:30 and 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Saturday                8:00 am – 9:00 am

 

Sheep not signed in by 9:00 am on Saturday will not be able to participate in the show and will have to leave the premises.
