Spool knitting is fun and a great meditative tool that can be easily slipped into your pocket as a portable stress buster. It's also a great stash buster.
For this project we will be using a fine weight fiber (so don't forget your magnifier specks) to make a lovely variegated bracelet . We are making a bracelet during class however the kit will include extra fiber and clasp for those who would like to spool around and make the longer necklace version after class.
In this class we will cover spool knitting using a weight, learn how to form carrick knots as well as discuss how to estimate cord lengths for both cords and knots and we will cover jewelry finishing techniques. Spool knitting has many applications and can be done with many various fibers, the key is in the pick ups. We will be using a fine fiber so we can develop good technique.
The required kit will include an antique bobbin spool, a weight , pick, fiber for bracelet and necklace and two sets of clasps so one can complete both Carrick knot bracelet and necklace
