Ready to learn a fun fiber art that lets you stab things? Needle Felting is a fun, easy and inexpensive fiber art that is a blast to learn…even virtually!
In this workshop, you will learn an overview of needle-felting (history, tools, general technique) and then we will jump right into your first project. We will make a gnarly little wool narwhal (about 5 inches long) from a felting kit that I have designed. There is plenty of opportunity to show your creativity and design your narwhal with unique, personalized details.
This project is geared for beginners and you will have a chance to learn felting techniques and develop new skills. You will have the opportunity to work with various types of wool fiber, including merino roving and Harrisville brand fleece batting, as well as learn about various needle sizes and their proper application. I will share my EZ-Peazy tips and tricks of using foam cores and templates for fabulous results the first time.
All supplies will be provided. In fact, you will receive extra supplies, a felting pad and needles that you can use over and over. One narwhal will be finished in the class and you will have extras supplies and techniques to make three more sea friends.
The materials you need will be mailed directly to you before the class. For the $25 fee (this includes shipping), you will receive: 4 felting needles (two sizes), felting pad, Harrisville fleece, Merino roving, 3 foam cores, templates and wires needed for completion, needle felting basics hand-out and some secret surprises.
