Description

Adorn your knits with whimsical and colorful embellishment techniques! Learn how, with techniques used in the popular Jasmine Tea Mitts and Hat pattern published in Creative Knitting Magazine's Autumn 2018 issue. In class you will learn how to make two types of bobbles, two types of surface embroidery techniques, decorative knots, a flower, and a picot bind off. Any of these embellishments can be used to decorate other projects, or use them when you make your own Jasmine Tea accessories at home!

Pre-requisites
Students must know how to cast on, knit, purl, kfb, yo, bind off.
Homework Required?
With a smooth light colored yarn (either sport, DK, or worsted weight), cast on an even number of
stitches to make an approximately 4" wide swatch (see yarn label to approximate number). Work
in Stockinette Stitch for about 4". Do not bind off, leave swatch on needles.

Supplies Students Need
At least two different colors sport, DK, or worsted weight yarn, 50 yards each; appropriate sized
straight knitting needles; yarn (tapestry) needle.
To make the project at home, you'll need sport weight yarn in 5 different colors, at least 50 yards
each color.
